Business Enhance: Renovation of Private Sector Buildings

This scheme aims to support SMEs and larger organizations in enhancing their energy efficiency and carbon emissions to reduce energy waste.

 

Who can apply?

Micro enterprises, SMEs, and larger entities are eligible to apply for this scheme, however certain conditions apply.

 

What are the conditions for eligibility?

The eligible enterprise must take on projects and investments aimed at reducing energy used for lighting, hot water, ventilation, heating, and cooling.

 

The extent of the renovation shall be assessed against and certified based on an Energy Performance Certificate.

 

Eligible investment under this scheme is:

    • Measures for reducing energy used for lighting, hot water, ventilation, heating, and cooling.
    • Renovations on the building envelope reducing the energy demand.

The expenditure that is refunded is the extra expenditure required to achieve a higher level of energy efficiency.

 

This scheme only considers the renovation of existing buildings and does not consider work-in-progress on new construction and facility extension.

 

How much funds are allocated?

A grant of €300 per square meter shall be allocated, capped at a maximum of €1 million for each undertaking. The aid depends on the size of the renovation.

 

When are the deadlines?

The call is currently open, and will remain open until 31st December 2023, subject to changes. The renovation project must be implemented by the end of 2025, and hence the enterprise should become more sustainable, energy.

 

Interested enterprises must submit an application and fulfill at least 50% of the criteria for eligibility. The grants shall then be allocated based on a ranking system.

 

If a grant is going to be awarded, the applicant will receive the support through a claims process.
